We will have bare-root nut trees, berry bushes, and a select few grafted fruit trees available in early November. These are field-grown plants that can be dug up once they drop their leaves. For those colder parts of the Kootenays where the ground is already frozen by November, we dig up the remainder of the plants in mid-late March for spring planting. In order to reduce our consumption of off-site resources such as potting mix and plastic pots, we are reducing the amount of container-grown perennials and growing bare-root nursery stock whenever possible.
